Hehn Trickey Professional Corporation is licensed public accounting firm that has been providing accounting, assurance and taxation services to Simcoe County since 2005 when its predecessor firm T. J. Hehn and Associates was started by Terry Hehn with the assistance of Debbie Trickey and Nynka Greer. In 2008, Debbie Trickey became a partner and the firm name was changed to Hehn Trickey Professional Corporation. Jennifer Man joined the firm in January 2015.
Terry retired from BDO Canada LLP in July of 2005 after being a partner for more than twenty five years.
Terry has had considerable experience in providing assurance, taxation and other services to the private sector and not-for-profit clients. With more than forty years audit, accounting and taxation experience, he has been involved with audit and review engagements for a number of manufacturing, service, retail, school board, not-for-profit and personal clients in Simcoe County and surrounding area. His prior work experience was with BDO Canada LLP in Orillia, the Canada Revenue Agency and Thorne, Gunn, Helliwell and Christenson (now KPMG) in Toronto.
Volunteer Activities
After graduating from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics in 1997, Debbie received her Chartered Accountant designation in 1999. She had the distinction of being on the Institute of Chartered Accountants Roll of Honour by placing fifteenth out of over a thousand Ontario writers of the Uniform Final Examination that year.
With more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, Debbie was formerly an audit manager with BDO Canada LLP in Orillia and she previously articled with KPMG LLP in Brockville and Barrie. She has worked with various not-for-profit organizations, registered charities, municipalities, First Nations, school boards as well as owner-managed small businesses and individuals requiring personal tax assistance.
Debbie has lived in the Orillia area since 1996 and currently resides on the outskirts of Orillia in beautiful Oro-Medonte with her husband and two children.
Jennifer has over fifteen years of experience in public accounting. She has extensive experience with the auditing of various organizations including municipalities, colleges, school boards, foundations, First Nations and other similar organizations.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (2000), Jennifer graduated from the University of McMaster with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in 1997. She is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.
As a way of giving back to the community in which she was raised, Jennifer remains active in the community. She is currently the Treasurer of North Simcoe Victim Crisis Services. She also sits on the parent council of Orchard Park Public School and is involved in organizing fundraisers for the school.
Jennifer is a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Sandra has more than 20 years of accounting experience in the private sector and in public accounting having previously worked for MNP LLP in Burlington, Ontario as well as operating her own bookkeeping/accounting business. She enjoys interacting with clients to find solutions to their bookkeeping problems. Sandra is originally from Haliburton, Ontario, loves spending time with family, friends and enjoys travelling and going on adventures, including skydiving and white water rafting.
Nynka Greer has been with Hehn Trickey Professional Corporation since its beginning in 2005, joining after completing her cross-Canada bicycle tour! She especially enjoys helping her clients find solutions to QuickBooks and other bookkeeping problems, and is appreciated by them for her friendly hands-on teaching skills. She has worked in the accounting profession for more years than she is willing to admit, having previously worked with Powell Jones LLP in Barrie, and with BDO Canada LLP in Orillia, Ontario. Nynka officially retired at the end of 2016 but has returned temporarily to assist us during March and April.
